Wolf-dage who still had a little bit of sense in him finally stopped. He looked around howling. “Enough! Enough! Everyone stop now! We have already helped Prince get his revenge. I think Prince in Heaven* will rest easy now.”

Hearing her husband’s voice, Yu Lian-dasao also stopped. She looked at the ruined arena and whimpered out, “Prince, you can rest in peace now…”

“Prince-gege! Wahhhh!” Tears welled up in Doll’s eyes again.

“Prince! I have avenged your death!” Gui shouted at the sky, tears overflowing. “Prince are you listening?! We finally helped you get your revenge~~”

I swallowed a melon seed, drank some coke and dodged another fireball. “I heard you.” But Gui you’re yelling at the wrong place. I’m not in the sky; I’m at your left hand side.

Wolf-dage titled his head and looked up at the pillar where the referee was and asked, “Referee, why aren’t you declaring that we are the winners? Unless you still want us to continue to wreak havoc. I must let you know, my team member’s patience isn’t very good.”

Sniffling, the referee almost cried and hurriedly began to explain. “But Spirit Spirit team still has one member left. The rules say that all members have to be dead or have surrendered to be able to announce a winner.”

“Surrender! Surrender!” Wolf-dage didn’t even have the chance to open his mouth when a sharp voice cried out from under a pile of rocks. Wolf-dage walked over there and shifted the rocks away to see a flower with only one petal left lying miserably under it.

The referee shouted to the crowds. “Odd Squad wins! Odd Squad wins and successfully entered the finals!”

I happily ran to the arena hugging with my teammates. Awesome! We got in!

Sometime later…I heard a strange rumor about me. Some people say that I’m more scary dead than alive. What do they mean by that? Meatbun and I could only blink our innocent eyes not understanding.

Ugly Wolf waved around his stick*, persistently fighting against the Rock Demon. When it comes to strength and physique Ugly Wolf obviously don’t stand a chance against the rock-hard Rock Demon. But Ugly Wolf snorted and his heart suffering. Even a 3 year old kid knows how to defeat a rock. All you have to do is hit him repeated with both heat and ice and he’ll shatter right?

“Gui! Get Fire Phoenix to spit fire at the Rock Demon!” Ugly Wolf PMed* Gui and Gui responded instantly.

“You think fire will have an effect on me?” the Rock Demon was being burned by the fire but he seemed very nonchalant.

Ugly Wolf grinned icily. What happens if we add water? Okay, watch me make your shatter into pieces….water, should I go get Yu Lian? No, Yu Lian only has fire and earth spells, Doll can’t be used, Gui won’t be much help and Lolidragon is a thief. Damn it! No water…Ugly Wolf stood frozen in place. Now what are we supposed to do? There’s no way I’m going up to the Water Demon and say, ‘Hey! Lend me some water so I can kill the Rock Demon!”

“Wahh~~Mama!” Meatbun was on the side crying violently. The arena was practically being flooded by tears.

Ugly Wolf’s ugly face broke out into a smile. How amazing, Prince is already dead but he didn’t forget to leave us with this important “orphan” Ugly Wolf quickly scooped up Meatbun and began to talk. “Meatbun, that rock other there was the reason why your Mama died. Do you want to get revenge for her?”

“Wah~ what’s revenge?” Meatbun looked up with huge innocent eyes.

Ugly Wolf scratched his head a bit. “Just…go other to that Rock Demon and cry and your Mama will be very happy!” Ugly Wolf said in his best comforting voice*.

“Then Mama will come back? Meat-bunbun misses Mama.”

“Yup…probably!”

“Okay!” Meatbun’s face filled with resolve began to jump and bounce towards the Rock Demon.

Ugly Wolf wiped away a cold sweat; thankful that Meat buns don’t have brains.

Rock Demon began to stare at the Meat bun that’s hopping towards him. Meatbun jumped onto his shoulder and two water pillars immediately came on. Rock Demon began to hear himself start to crack. His face in alarm began to frantically trying to grab Meatbun. “What are you doing? Get off!” However Meatbun is small and very active. In a second he was on his head, his shoulders, and his arms…the two water taps running destroying Rock Demon’s body.

The whole situation did a 180 turn!

I just got back from the rebirth point, passed the after-death vomiting stage and began to look around me bored.

“Now what am I supposed to do?” I mumbled to myself before remembering. “That right! I should go and see how the match is faring.”

So that I would get to the match on time, I quickly grabbed a bag of melon seeds, brought a plate of fried rice and a bottle of coke and hurried on to the stadium. I got there just in time to see Gui in his maniacal state. I found a seat and began to look at my teammates who turned crazy because of my death.

“Wow~ if I knew Gui could control Fire Phoenix just like that then I should have committed suicide so that we could have delicious barbeque meat!”

“What a scary Inferno Dragon…”

“Yu Lian-dasao is really ferocious…”

I signed for the countless time, but my crazy teammates are continuously being mad. By the time I finished eating my fried rice the whole arena turned into a disaster. “Flaming floods” and “fallen sky and cracked earth…” *

Floods.

“Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! Mama didn’t come back! Mama~!!” Meatbun’s two water taps have now evolved into two full fledged waterfalls! The flowing water overtook the whole arena flooding it. Meatbun must have set a new record for flooding the stadium.

Flames.

“Fire Phoenix, quickly! Burn all of the arrogant demons into hell! Ahahaha~” Gui have already entered in a semi-mad state and Fire Phoenix have begun to get addicted to burning. Aside from the small number of Odd Squad members, Fire Phoenix spit out fire at anyone and anyplace.

Fallen sky.

“Bump” the overflow sky sounded. Doll’s Horrifying Underworld Inferno Dragon “once again” rammed into the stadium pillars.* Pieces of rock that’s the size of human heads flew all over the arena. Even the spectators over at the stands suffered from the attack of the flying rocks. I dodged.  Wow, almost hit me. *

Cracked earth.

When Yu Lian-dasao’s terrifying earthquake spell is used for the 11^th time, the ground of the arena already turned into 6 uneven pieces and it seems like her goal is to split the ground until its barely recognizable.

“Prince!” Odd Squad members looked shocked. Wolf-nii ran up to me grabbing at the grass while Doll directed her flaming skeletons to cover us. Lolidragon who was originally running towards the opponents ran back, hurriedly cutting the grass with her dagger.

I began struggling, and looking up saw that the Rock Demon was charging towards us. I quickly turned ashen, loudly shouting. “Forget about me! Defend yourselves!”

“Skeletons hurry over and defend!” Doll came to our side summoning her skeletons to guard against the Rock Demon. However, the Tree Demon swung one of its mighty branches and scattered the skeletons with ease. Although it wasn’t enough to kill of the skeletons, it caused them enough damage to take a long time crawling back up. As the Tree Demon surged forward, Yu Lian set out a ranging fireball which sent him back scurrying back to the Demon Demon Team. The Rock Demon was unaffected and raised his arm to swap Doll away. Noticing just in time, Ugly Wolf quickly pushed her out of the way and took the heavy blow himself. Towering over 200 centimeters even Wolf-nii was sent flying.

“Wolf…!” Yu Lian-dasao cried out.

“Flaming Skeletons! Hurry and come protect everyone!” Doll was sent into a panic, calling her skeletons to defend against the offense of the Rock Demon.

“GUI! Ferocious Spell hurry up and use the Ferocious Spell!” I roared.

“Right…” Gui immediately used his Ferocious Spell on me.

I felt more power surge inside of me and started struggling. In a while I freed out my right arm. “Continuous Blade!” Cut, Slice, Slash, Hack, Nick, Chop, I used every type of cutting known to man to get rid of the grass on my body. After freeing myself, I jumped up and ran to help against the fight with the Rock Demon.

Suddenly a large water pillar appeared in front of me, shocked, I hurriedly took a step back. Unfortunately I don’t have eyes on the back of my head, so I didn’t see that behind me there was another large water pillar. On top of which the one behind me was even stronger than the one in front, I was trapped.

“Ahh…” I was being washed up along with the strong currents which were pulling me off the arena. Panicked I grabbed my Black Sabre and stabbed it into the ground griping it tightly. Thankfully I wasn’t washed off the stage but once the water receded I found myself once again tied up by the grass. How irritating!

I cut away the grass, got hit by two water pillars, when the water finally pulled away; I got tangled up in grass again! At this time, I turned to look at Doll and everyone else worried about how they were faring. Thankfully Doll teamed up with Yu Lian-dasao so they were on par with the Rock Demon. Gui grabbed his instrument and began was using Ghost Chase Super Sonic Arrow to distract the enemy. Wolf-nii is fighting by himself?! I finally remembered that there was a demon that you can’t see – Wind Demon! The Wind Demon is fighting with Wolf-nii. Not good! Where’s Lolidragon? I turned around to look at the other members of Demon Demon Team and as expected I saw Lolidragon crouching sneakily behind the Water Demon ready to take it down by surprise…but…”Lolidragon, run!”

The Tree Demon, unhurt, was planning his assassin of the female thief. Once Lolidragon showed up his huge tree branches came throttling out of nowhere.

“Ahh…!” Lolidragon who was never good with ducking was hit directly by the branch causing her to lose a lot of blood. She stood up again quickly returned back to Odd Squad. Noticing that Wolf-nii was having a lot of trouble, she immediately rushed to aid him in battle. Invisible people although really hard to see with the naked eye, however, it is hard to conceal itself against the trained eyes of a thief. Along with Gui’s assistance, the Wind Demon was sent scurrying back to Demon Demon Team’s corner.

Suddenly, the demon that hadn’t moved once since the beginning of the fight started to chant a healing spell. Flower petals flew over to the Wind Demon’s head and almost immediately he began to heal.

“Looks like Flower Demon is a priest!” Ugly Wolf uttered in surprise.

Tree Demon seeing what was happening ran to help out the Wind Demon. After adding the strong and merciless Tree Demon, Wolf-nii, Lolidragon and Gui could only fight evenly. Doll and Yu Lian could only stop the Rock Demons offensive – which against the rock (excuse the pun) hard Rock Demon had absolutely no effect. And me? I am still obviously trapped between the Grass and Water Demon unable to do anything.
At this rate, we’re going to be finished! I once again struggled wildly against the grass and pulled out Meatbun.

“Mama? Are you playing water? Meatbun also wants to play!” Meatbun looked up at me – being washed up almost disfigured because of the Water Demon – with his big round eyes.

After all this? I never want to play with water again! With no strength left the Grass Demon bound me again. “Meatbun wait until I’m being washed up with the current again. I want you to use technique XXX to get me out of here. Do you understand?”

“Yup~ I understand.”

I began to hack at the grass of the N time. Jumping up the pillar of water began to surge at me again.
“Meatbun, use Bamboo Dragonfly!” I cried out.

Meatbun’s head suddenly grew a Bamboo Dragonfly. The Bamboo Dragonfly twirled to life, slowly spinning upwards carrying Meatbun up with it. And me using my left hand grabbing tightly to Meatbun rose with them. “Keep away from that water current Meatbun.” Meatbun automatically went to the left missing the Water Demon who was coming right at us.

I had no choice but to reply on a meatbun flying back and forth, searching for opponents. I decided first to get rid of the Grass and Water Demon since if I didn’t then I wouldn’t be able to walk on the ground at all anymore! “Meatbun, slowly approach the enemy.”

“What’s an ‘enemy’?”

I face palmed. “Go towards the people gathered over there.” I pulled out my Black Sabre and pointed in the direction of Demon Demon Team.

“Okay~ Mama!” Meatbun obediently began to advance on Demon Demon Team.

“Dragon. Roll. Chop.” I bypassed a water pillar and turned into a dragon charging at the Water Demon. That hateful Water Demon immediately received a large gaping hole in his stomach thanks to me. I was jump about to give him another trust of my sword and send the Demon to the rebirth point my body was tangled up by grass again. But the worst thing was…

“Ice Pillar.” The seriously hurt Water Demon smiled sinisterly, hands holding onto more than 10 ice poles.
“(prince’s attack)” I hurriedly cut of the grass on my body but it was too late to duck, 5 pillars pierced me. My face turned white…eugh! It really hurt, the pain was worst on my left leg where a pillar and penetrated through. The rest merely hit the front of the body. Although I still have more than half of my life I was once again bound by the Grass Demon. In front of me suddenly appeared N number of ice pillars! Looks like Demon Demon Team is about to complete their hideous goal – to turn me into an ice kabob.

“Even if I have to die, I’m taking one with me. Meatbun, dog chase attack!” I ordered Meatbun to attack the Water Demon.

“Ah…” I was continuously hit by ice pillars, in my left hand, waist, shoulder and one even passed by my forehead. On the other side the Water Demon was hit continuously by Meatbun’s attack but alas the Flower Demon reacted fast enough to heal him. I lay on the ground and looked at my life stats. Looks like I couldn’t even bring down one of them with me, damn it.

“Prince, let’s go!” Lolidragon appeared suddenly behind me and began pulling me away. Grass Demon didn’t give up; he quickly bound both of us cutting off our escape. But a light arrow prevented him from doing so. Gui extremely angry began to use Full Sky Raining Arrows on the Grass Demon giving him no choice but to release me and use grass to protect himself, Flower Demon and the Water Demon.

“Almost there Prince!” Lolidragon was pulling as hard as she can trying to get me Wolf-nii in time to be healed. Ugly Wolf himself wanted to come and heal me but with Lolidragon gone and Gui going berserk it was all he can do not to be killed by the Wind and Tree Demon. Extremely busy he couldn’t pull some time to come heal me.

I considered the circumstances and opened my mouth to yell at Lolidragon. “Go help Wolf-nii! He can’t keep fighting by himself!”

Lolidragon looked at Wolf-nii then looked at me. “Damn it, if I don’t help Wolf-nii get rid of those too then we wouldn’t have a chance to help Prince!”

Lolidragon bit her lip and left me hurrying back to help Ugly Wolf to defend against the two. “You have to hang in here, do you hear me Prince?!” Lolidragon yelled over her shoulder.

At this time I could only weakly nod my head a bit, hang in there? This stupid 99% reality! The wound is constantly making my life drop, how am I supposed to hang in there? You’re not allowed to bring blood into the contest either…crap. I’m getting dizzy and things are turning fuzzy…I quickly shoke my head.

At this time the Water Demon’s wounds are completely healed and he sent a furry of ice pillars towards me – who was still woozy in a dream like state.

“Prince~” Gui, Lolidragon, Ugly Wolf, Yu Lian and Doll cried out in despair.

“Prince!” Gui leaped over holding on to the now unconscious me. At that moment the water current immediately washed both of us away. Gui tired to shield me with his body but no avail the tiny amount of blood in my body stained the water red…

Suddenly my head cleared and I understood perfectly. I am just one drop away from dying. “Gui, you must fight!”

Gui looked at me frightened. “Prince, no…no you can’t die!”

I smiled lightly my body becoming hazy turning bright like starlight. Gui looked sorrowful at me as I turned into a pillar of light flying into the sky.

“Prince.” Gui looked at his hand who was just momentarily holding on to me and pounded the ground. His voice was also chocking.

“Prince.” Lolidragon looked white.

“Why…” Yu Lian covered her mouth, eyes sparkling with tears.

“No, Prince!” Wolf-nii roared in sadness.

“Wahhhh….wahhh, Prince-nii!” Doll began to cry.

“Mama? Where did Mama go? Wahhhh.” Meatbun’s super watery fountain reappeared creating a river.

At the arena the whole area seemed to be at a standstill. The feeling of sorrow spread throughout the spectators, even member of Demon Demon Team seemed to be at a loss of what to do. The minutes passed one by one, until finally Demon Demon Team decided to move again. But at that time flames of fury was coming off of Gui.

“Fire Phoenix. As you master I command you: Burn! Send all those ignorant bastards that dared to hurt my true love into the fiery depths of hell.” Gui eyes burned with the desire to revenge. Even the ever disobedient Fire Phoenix knows that right now isn’t the time to disobey. He sqacked once and flew up high, flames spilling out of his mouth at Demon Demon Team. Grass Demon was originally going to set up a barricade but what can grass do to fire? Water Demon immediately went to help using water to block the life-threatening flames.

Grass Demon knowing things are good wanted to use its binding attack against Gui. Long grass suddenly appeared on the ground beneath Gui’s feet.

“Earthquake Spell!” Yu Lian crouched on the ground her right hand touching it slightly. At that second the ground underneath the Grass Demon immediately spilt into two. The Grass Demon lost his footing and was about to fall into the hole but thankfully the Grass Demon was nearby and caught him in time. However Yu Lian only smiled lightly finishing her second incantation. The ground began to split going straight towards both the Grass Demon and the Tree Demon.

“You used this trick to kill Prince, you really think I’m going to let you kill Gui too?! In your dreams!” Yu Lian lightly spat out these words.

“Hell’s wrath from the darkest depth of your abyss. I call upon the remains of the undead fire dragon. Heed my call and appear before me! Obey your master and clear the path before me of all the ignorant barbarians.” Doll’s normally cheerfully face was dark and tinted with danger. Even summoning the Underworld’s Inferno Dragon couldn’t satisfy her need to revenge Prince. And so, Demon Demon team now has not only to fight the divine flames of the Fire Phoenix but now also the raging fire-spitting Inferno Dragon. No doubt for the Demon Demon Team it was like adding frost to ice…no fire to oil.

“Haha, don’t worry about him! He’s always like this! Prince is constantly scared half to death before the fight, but once it actually starts, he is the one person who gets into the fight the most. No worries, no worries!” Lolidragon laughed heartily as she replied.

“Really….?”

“It’s time.” Wolf-dage calmly said.

Hearing that, I stood up and turned. My left hand grabbed my Black Sabre. “It’s time to kill.” I muttered unenthusiastically.

Not really sure why, no matter how scared I has before the fight, every time I walk in the stadium and feel the eyes of the spectators I can always somehow manage to clam myself down. Although I still don’t want to use Meatbun and the obedient Fire Phoenix to win against the two dragons, however, I didn’t have a plan when Meatbun fought Fire Phoenix, and we still won! Ahahaha, this is called lucky people have Heaven behind them….(actually it’s more like foolish people have foolish luck!).*

Like every other time, I was first to jump on the stage. Yet Hell’s Murderers has only passed through the tunnel. The first person to come out of the tunnel and also the leader was wearing a blood red mage coat. “Blood-soaked Demon King, Ice Mage, most favorite technique is to skewer people with ice poles. The number one most terrifying and strongest in Hell’s Murderers.” Lolidragon explained.

“Skewer? That means the worst I can get is a hole through my stomach? That’s great! It scared me for a second there, I thought that my intestines XXX will be forced in and out of my mouth, and pull my XXX bloody heart off my chest while cracking open my brain. Then sticky white XXX brain will splatter all over the ground…” I relaxed quite a bit. What did they mean by the most scariest team? Heck, I was even scared half to death by them.*

“Lord Prince! I beg of you not to say any more!” Pale and stricken faced, Lolidragon who was listening to my rant about XXX begged me to stop. “If you say anymore, I’ll puke up my breakfast!”

“Haha…sorry about that! I’ve been watching too many scary movies lately!” Remembering last night’s horror movie the homicidal crazy killer killed the same tacit to kill people. I laughed foolishly.

At this time, the announcements came up. Vomiting sounds could be heard in the background. “Everyone…I am commentator Xiao Li. Because of one of the competitor Prince’s gruesome descriptions, it has caused all of the people to flee the arena, (barf)* probably to the washrooms…vomiting. There are still 5 more minutes before the match must start. If not one member of Hell’s Murders can return to the area before the 5 minutes is up, then it will be automatic disqualification and Odd Squad wins by default! (barf)”

At this moment…in the washroom.

I twirled my fingers around guiltily, and muttered in a sad voice. “I didn’t do it on purpose!”

I just walked off from the stage when Lolidragon approached me with a fierce angry aura. “Prince you’re DEAD!”

“You even made up puke up last nights dinner!” Yu Lian-Dasao smiled. Her fearsome shadow reappeared again.

“Prince-nii! Doll is very scared~” Scared? But Doll, why does your expression look like a starving dragon that just saw fresh meat?

“Ai….Prince I think you already know this. From the beginning I have always thought of you as a younger brother.” Then don’t swing around your 2 meter cane and do warm up exercises! Wolf-nii don’t you know? For a warrior to be defeated by a priest in terms of physical strength is a very humiliating thing?!

A small brawl commenced in which fists and feet, slippers and knives were used to attack. I hid behind Gui safely escaping from torture. Thankfully I looked at Gui who now has no resemblance of a human. (Strange, why didn’t he die? Look like Wolf-nii’s cure had Gui’s help in leveling up.) Swearing to myself, I promised to not to hit Gui too much next time.

“Prince! You’re so sly.” Lolidragon yelled.

“How is that true? You are now happy after beating someone into a pulp, yet I in turn am not hurt. Also it even completed my desire of beating up Gui. Everything is falling into place. Hahaha.” I really am ice cold. Haha.

“Wonder why they asked for Nii-san for? I’m starving.” Just before, the announcements came up asking for our team leader to go see them, saying something about that they need to consult. Hope it’s not that our victory wasn’t counted! Would we have to fight again? No way…I already suffered so much, to have out victory annulled. Then I will actually use Qing Dynasty’s 10 Torture Techniques on the game operators.

“You really eat a lot…makes me wonder if you really are female.” Lolidragon suddenly realized she said the wrong thing. My face suddenly turned pale and looked at Dasao and Doll to see if they realized anything. “…*bishounen.

“…” Good thinking Lolidragon! I let out a sigh.

“Wolf is back!’ Yu Lian-dasao grinned excited.

“Ai…everyone, I have some bad news.” Ugly Wolf-nii furrowed his brows together. “We have to fight one more time.”

“Now? Already?” But I’m hungry….

“Technically we still have 20 more minutes.”

“Gui…” we all turned to look at Gui who seemed to turn into a pile of discarded clay.

“I’ll heal him. Don’t worry.” Wolf-nii replied noting everyone’s gaze. “This is 10 times lighter than what Prince did to Gui before.”

…I pretended I never heard that.

“Demon Demon Team is our next opponent. And another thing, the reason why we are fighting twice in a row is because we’re one of the last teams who haven’t finished yet. They want to complete all the groupings today therefore everyone must fight.” Wolf-nii said frustrated. “The stupid thing is, there’s no time for us to find any information regarding the opponent. Yet the other team after watching our fights know exactly what they’re up against. It’s very unfavorable against us.”

“*” I muttered vaguely while nibbling on a piece of steamed bun.

“That’s not for certain. Thankfully, the fight just then didn’t actually show any of our skills. All they would know is our professions.” Yu Lian-dasao smiled cheerfully.

“Hope that’s true…”

At the arena. I broke out a cold sweat and managed to force my mouth to ask, “That’s our opponents?”

“Looks like it.” Wolf-nii’s brows furrowed even more tightly if that was even possible.

“Are you serious?! I’m talking about the flower, a blade of grass, a pool of water, a tree, a piece of rock and something that no one can see is our opponents?” My mouth dropped open, that’s a bit…exaggerated.

“No wonder they’re called Demon Demon Team. It’s made up of a Tree Demon, Flower Demon, Water Demon, Rock Demon, Wind Demon and Grass Demon. This isn’t good. Demons are classified in complicated categories and they’re skills are constantly changing. Plus players choosing to become a Demon are minimal therefore we never fought against a Demon team before. Our knowledge of them is too little. This fight is going to be tough.” Lolidragon explained worriedly.

“Ai…And I was going to try out the things I said at the last fight…but now…” I let out a sigh. “Lolidragon, do you think it/he/she/her/him/they will have intestines for me to pull?”

“No clue.”

“No matter, we still have to fight anyways.” I don’t care who my opponent is, I just want to stretch out my arms and legs and start the fight.

“Prince is right, let’s get them!” Wolf-nii roared.

I began to laugh wildly and pulled out my Black Sabre. The last preliminary grouping fight, start.

Once the competition started, I immediately started rushing forward. Might was well start by eliminating two of them. But just then I realized my foot was bound together by something. My whole body ended up sprawled on the ground, I tuned to look at my foot…grass? Why does the arena have grass to trip me? I quickly used my Sabre to cut the grass and moved to crawl back up when even more long strands of grass popped up beside me.

Horror stories softly circulated throughout all of Teitan Elementary Year 1 Class B.

Everyone was busy reading. Genta however, gabbed hold of Conan’s ear and started whispering to him about the scary events that happened at school in the past few days. He said it with such vigor and excitement that saliva splashed all over Conan’s face.

Conan didn’t seem to care very much about the events, in a bored voice Conan asked Genta “You say that our school is haunted?”

“Exactly! There’s no mistaking it!”

Mitsuhiko who was beside them also decided to stick his head in. He whispered in a soft spooky voice, “Right now, the whole school is circulating this rumor!”

“Looks like to me, this is nothing but another rumor like our schools 7 mysteries, right? If it isn’t the piano playing by itself at night when there’s no one there, or the number on the stairwell is different…” Conan has no interest in these kind of things.

“This isn’t another one of those kiddy rumors!” Mitsuhiko’s face was turning pale just thinking about the rumor. “A week ago in the morning, a student went to the Art Class. She really likes the big portrait hung there, therefore she goes to see it every morning. That student saw with her own eyes the the 8 cast statues in the Art Class turn and stare at her at the same time. Not only that, the eyes were filled with a strange light! Think about it, this rumor is really scary isn’t it?” While he was talking, Mitsuhiko’s voice went up a pitch.

“Don’t get scared, this is only a coincidence!” Conan muttered lightly.

“Not only that, it isn’t just her! Don’t you think that the number of students in our school has decreased a lot?” Mitsuhiko lowered his voice. Like a thief, he slunk down and put his head closer to his body staring at the students in the class.

“But I heard that right now there’s a flu being passed around.” Conan stared at Mitsuhiko strangely.

“This could have something to do with the curse of the cast statues!” Mitsuhiko seemed like an expert reminding Conan of the rumor.

“Humph. The rumor I heard is 10 times more scary than the statues!” Genta said from behind them.

“Hm?” Conan turned around to look at him.

“Doesn’t the Health Room have a really scary looking fake person?”

“Don’t you mean the human anatomy model?” Conan sighed and started explaining it to Genta. Jeez.

“Yup, it’s that one! Four days ago at night, he was running in the hallway!” Genta started to break out into a cold sweat. “And his speed was amazing too, really fast!” Genta’s teeth was clattering now.

“That can’t be possible.” Conan rolled his eyes.

“Hey Ayumi, hurry up and tell Conan what you experienced!” Genta turned to holler at the girl who was currently reading. He knew that Conan will believe whatever Ayumi says.

“What? Ayumi, you saw something too?” shocked, Conan turned to stare at the girl.

“Yup.” Ayumi furrowed her eyebrows and nodded her head, yet her eyes didn’t leave the book.

“Anyways, since we are the Detective Boys, we have to start investigating this immediately, we might not be able to solve the case!” Genta muttered frantically at Conan and Ayumi.

“Ow!” Genta’s head was suddenly smacked with a rod, clutching his head he turned around to see Ms. Kobayashi.

Ms. Kobayashi stood there, her hands on her hips glaring down at him. “If you don’t accept the things I’m teaching you, then go home right now.” After yelling, she stormed away angrily and marched up to another student. “Next, let’s have Fukumoto read.”

But that student was slow to react to the teacher and Ms. Kobayashi frustrated yelled, “Hurry up, stop dallying!”

“Yes!” Scared, Fukumoto shot up from his seat.

“What a fierce woman!” Genta looked at Ms. Kobayashi’s back and muttered with a hand pressed against his mouth, “Remember Ms. Toya? She was such a good teacher too, nice and gentle.”

“What else can we do?” Mitsuhiko turned around in his chair. “After she got married, Ms. Toya quit her job!”

Genta crossed his arms behind his head and leaned back, “What a pity!”

After school when everyone was doing cleanup, Conan went over to ask Ayumi, “Did you really see something?”

“Yeah, three days ago after school…I saw it.” Ayumi frowned slightly.

“Why did you come to school at night for anyways?”

“I was just worried about the fish,” Ayumi turned around to look at the fish tank located at one corner of the classroom.

“You mean those fish?”

“Yeah, because that day I forgot to feed them so I came back at night to make sure they were okay. I didn’t know I was going to see it.” Ayumi lowered her head. She really didn’t want to think about it. “The classroom was all dark, but there was a man with a white mask. He looked so scary walking around the class.”

“Then did you see that person’s face?”

“No, and his voice was all muffled by the mask so I couldn’t understand. But it sounded like he was mad for some reason.”

“Why didn’t you tell this to the teachers?”

“I did! I told the director head that lived near me, he promised me that he would investigate this matter thoroughly.”

“So, what happened after?”

“That’s what I’m afraid of…” Ayumi started crying. “He didn’t come. Yesterday and today as well. He didn’t come to school. I asked Ms. Kobayashi and the other teachers if they knew anything but no one knows what happened to him! I even went over to his house and rang the bell but no one came to answer!”

“Maybe it’s because he caught the cold and was sleeping.” Genta wanted to console Ayumi.

“If that was the case, then he should have contacted the school at least!” Mitsuhiko countered.

Conan rubbed his chin, “If I remember correctly, the Director lives alone in his house after his wife died.”

“I think it’s all my fault! Just because I came to ask him to investigate about the man, he was murdered! The guy with the mask must have killed him and then buried him.” Ayumi started crying harder.

Teitan Elementarys 7 Mystery #2, the scary teacher, Ms. Kobayashi walked over. “What are you guys chattering about? Hurry up and start sweeping! Also, remember to bring those Parent-Teacher conference sheets to everyone that’s away because of the flu. Make sure they get to their parents and know about the event! Do you understand?”

“Got it!” Conan and everyone chorused.

Ms. Kobayashi walked out the door and slid it shut. She then leaned against it and closed her eyes.

“Ms. Kobayashi? What’s wrong?” At that moment, Mr. walked over and saw Ms. Kobayashi leaning against the door. “You look really pale. You just transferred to our school, and yet they gave you the 1st years. It must be hard on you, but you don’t have to look like that!” スズ大先生老师

工藤新一（Shinichi Kudou）

17 years old, Teitan High School 2nd Year, high deduction skills, hailed as the savior of the Japanese police into the era of peace as Heisei Holmes. He, himself, looks up to Holmes more than any other detective. Born May 4th (the date when Sherlock Holmes and Professor Moriarty fought over Reichenbach Falls) in Tokyo, likes to watch detective related shows and novels, home is filled with many detective novels, lives alone. Has perfect pitch and plays the violin but unable to sing. Was part of the soccer team in high school but quit after 1 year when it conflicted with his detective work. He likes Ran but will never admit it.
江户川柯南（Conan Edogawa）

Shinichi was force-fed a poison APTX4869 (4869 stands for “shiyaroku”, 4 = shi, 8 = ya, 6 = ro, 9 = ku, or “Sherlock”) by the Men is Black and his body shrunk. 6 years old, is currently staying at the Mouri Detective Agency. Enrolled in Teitan Elementary 1st Year B Class. Classmates includes: Ayumi, Mitsuhiko and Genta who makes up Detective Boys. He hates grapes. His biggest desire is to return back to Shinichi as soon as possible. Even after been shrunk, his deduction skills did not drop. Using Professor Agasa’s inventions, he can still become a detective. However, since no one will listen to a kid, he uses the help of Kogoro. Ran really likes Conan, and she often brings him with her to bathe. The people who know Conan’s real identity is his mother, father, Professor Agasa and Heiji Hattori. Conan Edogawa, is derived from Sir Arthur CONAN Doyle as well as EDOGAWA Rampo.

毛利兰（Ran Mouri）

Catch Phrase: (at Conan) Conan, where are you going? (at Shinichi) Shinichi, hurry up and come back!
She’s Shinichi’s childhood friend and classmate. She’s always been in love with Shinichi, but like him will never tell him (kind of like Ranma and Akane). She almost figured out that Conan is actually Shinichi but each time she was tricked to think it was false. Ran’s hobby is karate and even won the National Tokyo Tournament. Her idol is Japan’s karate champion – QianTianCong (前田聪). He’s also the reason why Ran took up karate in the first place. Also because of her parent’s separation, since Ran was little she took up all the household chores and is now proficient in them. If she wasn’t there, Conan and Kogoro would probably have starved to death. Her biggest desire is to get her parents back together again. Ran’s name was derived from both Edogawa RANpo and MAURIce Leblanc.
服部平次（Heiji Hattori）

17 years old, born in Osaka, is Osaka’s police departments chief Heizo Hattori’s (服部平藏) son. Together with Shinichi they are known as East and West High School Detectives. Loves to eat baked devil fish. He knows Conan’s real identity. Was originally Shinichi’s rival but after collaborating with Conan on several cases became friends. He also enjoys using code words to make fun of Conan and Ran’s situation. He also has a childhood friend – Kazuha Toyama (远山和叶).
Heiji Hattori’s first name comes as a reference to a detective named Zenigata HEIJI, who essentially caught the criminals by throwing coins. The name “Hattori” comes from historical figure HATTORI Hanzo (1541–1596), a ninja of the Iga Clan from Hyogo prefecture in Western Japan. Because of this Heiji is exceptionally skilled at kendo.
怪盜KID（Kaidou KID）

Also known as Thief 1412, newspapers call him Magician under the Moonlight, Heisei of Luban. His real identiy is Kaito Kuroba (黑羽快斗), 18 years ago it was Kaito Toichi (黑羽盗一). In order to find his father’s murder, he turned himself into a thief. Extremely skilled in magic and disguises, he often uses it to escape, even Conan was fooled by him a couple times. His relation with Conan is friend and enemy. He also has his own series.
黑羽快斗（Kaito Kuroba）

Also known as Kaidou KID, 17 years old, Tokyo, High School 2 year, looks almost exactly like Shinichi. His childhood friend is Aoko Nakamori (中森青子). Great athlete in everything but ice-skating. Hates fish, but one time to save Aoko, he dove into the sea, and then…He likes Aoko’s skirt the most, once she wore underwear that has a fish design which almost scared Kaito to death. He loves magic. He’s enemies are Saguru Hakuba (白马探) and Ginzo Nakamori (中森银三) — person in charge of the capture of Kaidou KID and Aoko’s father.
灰原哀（Ai Haibara）

Real identity: Shiho Miyano (宫野志保), 18 years old, researcher for the Black Organization, Code name: Sherry (雪莉), invented APTX4869. Older sister is Akemi Miyano (宫野明美) who was murdered by Gin. Because of her sister’s death, Shiho betrayed the organization and in an attempt to kill herself took the same drug Conan did. She shrunk to look like a 6 year old. She is currently staying with Professor Agasa. Ai Haibara is the name she is using and is given to her by Professor Agasa. Goes to Teitan Elementary 1st year, class B with Conan. Seems to have a crush on Conan.
毛利小五郎（Kogorou Mouri）

Catch Phrase: HAHAHAHA….(with his tongue coming out)
Ran’s dad, was once one of Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department’s most competent officers (seriously?), great marksman and at judo (skills appear only when angered). Quit being a police officer and set up a detective agency. Before Conan came, business was horrible and after Conan came he became known as the famous Sleeping Kogoro. He loves beautiful women (isn’t his wife a beautiful woman…I don’t get it). Currently separated with his wife. When there’s nothing to do Kogoro plays cards/mahjong, watches TV, smoke and drink beer to kill time. His idol is Yoko Okino (冲野洋子). His business is always being stolen by Shinichi so Kogoro does not like him.
Kogoro’s character is inspired by the famous Japanese detective KOGORO Akechi, a character created by author Edogawa Rampo.
阿笠博士（Professor Hiroshi Agasa）

Catch Phrase: I am a genius, hahaha….(that sounds familiar….didn’t Hanamichi Sakuragi [桜木花道] say that?)
52 years old, lives in Tokyo. Bachelor. Good friends with Shinichi’s father, lives next door to Shinichi. Self-proclaimed genius inventor, but his inventions are usually unless junk. However his inventions for Conan seem to be quite successful. Because he invented the “sound pen” he received a lot of money. Loves to go on the web. First person to know Conan’s real identity.
Professor Hiroshi Agasa’s name probably was derived from a famous detective story author, Christie AGATHA.
木暮十三（Jyuzou Megure）

The Chief of Tokyo Metropolitan Police, old friends with Shinichi’s father. When he was young, he was partnered with Kogoro. Shinichi often used to assist him in difficult cases. He always wears his big orange hat and refuses to take it off. Detective Boys suspect it is because either he’s balding or there’s a scar.
沖野洋子（Yoko Okino）

A very popular music idol, with great acting and singing skills. She is Kogoro’s idol.
工藤优作（Yusaku Kudou）

Born in Tokyo, Shinichi’s father, Yukiko’s husband, lives in Los Angeles with his wife. He fights with his wife often. A famous, bestselling detective novelist in Japan and US. Went to Hawaii with Shinichi once and taught him how to shoot. His reasoning ability is better than Shinichi’s.
工藤有希子（Yukiko Kudou）

Born in Tokyo, Shinichi’s mother (a bit too young though…seems like an old girlfriend). Got married to Yusaku Kudou at the peak of her acting career at age 20. Is a beautiful woman, is really worried about Shinichi’s new condition. She also has deduction abilities (may be the affect of her husband).
妃英理（Eri Kisaki）

Born in Tokyo, 37 years old, a very attractive older woman. Ran’s mother, Kogoro’s wife. Feelings between her and Kogoro are currently very bad, and is living separately. She does not really approve of Shinichi. Every time she gets a change of mind about Kogoro, he does something lecherous and causes her to be mad. Is ultra bad at cooking. Occupation: lawyer. She opened her own firm. Her favorite French chocolate is 吉可巴. Her reasoning abilities are better than Korgoro’s.
Eri Kisaki’s name is from the name of a detective story author, Ellery QUEEN (‘Kisaki’ means ‘queen’)
远山和叶（Kazuha Toyama）

17 years old, Osaka born, father works at Osaka Police Department. Heiji’s childhood friend and is in love with him. Although they fight a lot, but they still care about each other (just like Ran and Shinichi’s relationship). Gets jealous easily (thought Ran and Heiji were together because they wore the same style of shirt), later became great friends with Ran.
中森青子（Aoko Nakamori）

17 years old, Tokyo born, High School 2nd year, childhood friend to Kaito. Knows that Kaito is afraid of fish and constantly uses it against him. Does not know that he is Kaitou KID.
吉田步美（Ayumi Yoshida）

Catch Phrase: (at Conan) Let’s all work together!
Classmates to Conan and has a crush on him. Member of Detective Boys. Self-proclaimed start and cute female detective. Although timid, she loves to take risks. Loves the cartoon Kamen Rider (假面超人).
小岛元太（Genta Kojima）

Catch Phrase: You’re refusing Ayumi?
Conan’s classmate, member of Detective Boys, self-proclaimed chief of Detective Boys. He is actually very foolhardy. Large and tall, often uses intimidation to scare others. Likes Ayumi, envious of Conan, also likes Kamen Rider. Loves to eat, especially Eel rice.
圆谷光彦（Mitsuhiko Tsuburaya）

Catch Phrase: In a scientific stance….
Conan’s classmate, member of Detective Boys. Also likes Ayumi. Loves science to the point that everything has to be proved scientifically. His reasoning are usually wrong and has nothing to do with science. Likes to eat expensive foods like French cuisine.
铃木圆子（Sonoko Suzuki）

Ran and Shinichi’s classmate, also Ran’s best friend. Suzuki Foundation’s second daughter. Always thinking about finding a boyfriend. Is envious of Ran and Shinichi. Currently obsessed with the Internet. When Kogoro is not present, Conan uses her voice instead.
白马探 (Saguru Hakuba)

A detective who returned from studying in London. Does not like time restraints, son of the Governor. Handles cases very carefully, so that he can fully grasp the clues and use them properly. Likes to wear the same clothes as Sherlock Holmes. He even named one of his pet eagles “Watson.” After catching a criminal, Hakuba always says: “I’ll ask you one why, why do you do this?” He is also KID’s enemy.
小泉红子 (Akako Koizumi)

A beautiful girl, but is actually a witch with a very high sixth sense. She can do real magic which causes her to be very critical of Kaito’s “sleight-of-hand” magic She has a ugly servant as well. Knows the real identity of KID is Kaito but does not tell anyone. Akako is very much a seductress, and is “trying to make every man her slave”. She is at first angry at Kaito because she cannot “control” him, but later on she grows to like him.
高木刑警（Wataru Takagi）

A police officer. Subordinate to Megure and often helps with his cases. Somewhat ditsy, funny, and likes to imagine things. But when things get serious, he is very dependable. Likes Officer Sato.
白鸟任三郎（Ninsaharou Shiradori）

Metropolitan Police Department’s Vice General, later became a Sargent. Megure’s right hand man. Likes to put on airs and is very confident. Thinks Conan’s reasoning is a game. A bit arrogant. Likes art, architecture, and wine. Appears in every Conan movie.
佐藤美和子（Mikazuko Sato）

A strong female police officer. Officer Takagi’s upperclassmen. One of Megure’s most important subordinate. Able to be clam in dangerous situations and good with gathering information. Very popular. Doesn’t like being in high class restaurants to eat. Likes Megure but only as her father.
中森銀三 （Kinsou Nakamori）

Police Officer from the Second Division, Aoko’s dad, police officer sent to catch Kaidou KID. Comparable with Kogoro (same personality) and Megure. KID always manages to get away in the end. Think of KID as an enemy. Does not realize Kaito is actually KID.
Black Organization
The Black Organization is a large-scale syndicate. All members have a code name in the form of a wine name. They have a strict organization system. All enemies of the organization and traitors will be hunted down and killed. Shinichi was “killed” because he witnessed a business dealing and Shiho Miyano (Ai Haibara) is being hunted because she betrayed the organization by running away.
杜松子酒 （Gin）

Vodka’s boss, he was the one who drugged Shinichi. He has cold eyes, that seemed to say he killed many people and does not care anymore. Has high status in the organization. He and Sherry seems to have a deep relationship. He is also highly intelligent.
伏特加 （Vodka）

A big man, simple-minded, can’t keep secrets and not very assertive. Calls Gin “boss.” Killed Shiho Miyano’s (Ai Haibara) sister Akemi Miyano because she didn’t obey the organization.

“Now see here Mr. Gotham, for a long time now I’m been mooching off your help. I really need to thank you for everything you’ve done.” A thin, bony young man smiled almost bewitchingly at the male in front of him, his pistol still pressed against the head of the pompous, arrogant man with his perfectly combed mustached.

Lydia Carlton (莉迪雅)

The daughter of Professor Carlton, is a 17 year old fairy doctor. She has the rare power to see fairies, an ability she inherited from her mother. Lydia also possesses green eyes, a trait of those with the gift to see fairies. She is independent and kind, Lydia doesn’t hesitate to help others. She loves her father dearly and will do anything for him. She ends up working for Edgar as his consultant on fairy-related matters after helping him retrieve the Merrow’s Sword (key to him being recognized as the Blue Knight Earl by the Queen of England). Because of past difficulties, Lydia dislikes the idea of falling in love and even seems to be afraid of it. When she was a child, she was given a love letter by a boy who – as it turns out later – was dared to do so by his friends, crushing her. She also cast a spell on Kelpie so that he would not come near her, as his aggressive advances were troublesome to her. She doesn’t believe Edgar when he reveals his love for her, and only believes he is just being his usual playboy self. Her goal is to become a full-fledged fairy doctor, and frequently places herself in danger willingly when it comes to anything to do with problems between humans and fairies. She appears to have some self-esteem issues, referring to her own hair as “rust-colored” and comparing herself to her mother, who was apparently a woman of considerable beauty; everyone who knew her mother before she passed away says that they don’t look anything alike. Lydia currently is considered Edgar’s fiancee, a status she vehemently denies, despite Edgar’s courtship of her and multiple fairies calling her that.

Nico (尼可)

Nico is a fairy who takes on the form of a cat. He accompanies Lydia on her journey with Edgar. While he can walk on four legs like a normal cat, he prefers to walk on two legs like a human. He is able to turn invisible, and can read and write human language. He likes liquor, and fine tea. He is also very particular about being treated like a gentleman rather than a cat, and as such obsesses over his attire (most frequently a single neck ribbon, but he has been known to wear suits and tailcoats), and the state of his fur and whiskers. He is rather cowardly, often disappearing when things turn nasty. Despite his inability/unwillingness to engage in physical combat, his assistance is invaluable to Lydia. He often gathers information for Lydia from the fairies in the area, as well as acts as a guide when Lydia needs to travel to or from the fairy world. He is also something of an adviser to Lydia.
Kelpie (哈克利)

An impolite and arrogant fairy who aggressively pursues Lydia. Bound by the moon spell, which drives away unwanted advances from fairies, Kelpie must bring Lydia the “moon” in order to win her over, although it’s clear to everyone but Kelpie she has no interest in him. He follows Lydia all the way to London to bring her back to Scotland. Despite his aggressiveness, Kelpie genuinely loves and cares for Lydia, and comforts her when she’s confused (though she protests at times). His fairy form is that of a black horse, while his human form is that of an attractive young man with dark hair and eyes (his pupils are white swirls). His eyes are able to bewitch both men and women alike, and he has strong magical powers. He has the ability to purify water and cleanse toxins.
Edgar J. C. Ashenbert (爱德格)

Edgar is a flirtatious man in his early twenties with very distinctive ash mauve eyes. When he was young his parents were both murdered. As a result, he was thrown onto the streets and branded as a white slave. He was subsequently framed as a mass murderer and forced to flee from America for his alleged crimes. Stripped of his honorable name, Edgar embarks on a journey to find the famed Sword of Merrow. By obtaining the sword, Edgar hopes to assert himself as the “Earl of the Blue Knights” thus acquiring a respectable title and gaining a fabricated sense of honor. In his quest to find the Sword of the Merrow, Edgar captures Lydia Carlton, believing her eyes to be the key to finding the legendary sword. He is revealed to be in love with Lydia, and is frustrated and confused that she continually avoids his advances. He openly shows his love for her and even asks her on the night of his ball to dance only with him, lest he becomes jealous. He tells her it makes him uneasy to see her communicate with other men so easily and is rather unnerved by her friendship with Paul.
Raven (雷温)

Raven is 18 years old and Edgar’s personal servant. He is Ermine’s half-brother. He possesses mysterious green eyes and exceptional fighting skills. Very loyal to Edgar.
Ermine (雅美)

Raven’s half-sister and Edgar’s dear friend. Edgar would do anything for her if it will make her happy. She is a beautiful woman who has fine fighting skills (though she is not on par with Raven), with short black hair, snow-white skin, and a womanly allure that “is not dimmed by her wearing male clothes” most of the time.
